Entry to School Program
The Entry to School Program is an initiative for families registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) to help prepare children who are starting kindergarten or Grade 1 for the first time. The program runs for six months as a small group, and it focuses on school readiness in the areas of communication, play, social interaction, routines, behaviour, and learning. Upon completion of the program, children will be provided individual transition supports, as well as access to continued consultation services.
The program is offered free of charge and is being delivered in Kingston by a team of clinicians from Stride Academy, Big Words Little People, and Make Way for Me! In order to participate, children must have an OAP number and an AcessOAP email address. To check eligibility and register, families can contact entrytoschool@actlearningcentre.ca
